Ropley Dramatic Society is an amateur dramatic society based in the village of Ropley Hampshire UK. The society can trace its origins back to the Ropley Choral and Dramatic Society which was formed after the first world war.
Until recently at least two well-produced plays were undertaken each year, and a pantomime was put on every five years. There was a hiatus during the recent refurbishment of the Village Hall, except for a Murder Mystery Evening put on to help with fund raising for that project and the Society also funded the rewiring required for the stage lighting, which is also now used by other groups within the village
As times have changed and membership levels fallen, the Society has adapted and now produces one full play in the Spring but in the Autumn the evening is split between a One Act play, supper and a quiz which makes a very social occasion.
